What a day!!
Thanks to about 65 people, we put up all four walls of our house (7 bales high) in one day. We had women, men, children and a couple dogs running around, all blessing our homestead with a feeling of community we will never forget. And although some were still a little tired and shaking straw out of their body parts for some days following, everyone had a great time.
Below are some pictures chronicling the wallraising.

The first bale is in, set by strawboss Jonathan Ruez, and the people scatter to get to work.

Everyone's got a job, and they're all doing it.

Four bales high, and a couple of window frames are in place.

Seven bales high in some places, and the full wall is nearly realized.

Little Ian and Grandpa, hard at work.

Yay!! The last bale is in place!!

The sun is setting, the mountains turn a beautiful shade of violet, and our walls are up. Alleluia!
